I was a swimmer in high school and college. I tried the Ultraswim shampoo, but was never that impressed. I used Nexxus Therappe shampoo after swimming, but probably any conditioning shampoo will do the trick. Also, does your daughter wear a swimming cap? That is what will really protect her hair, since it will get exposed to less chlorine. Some of my friends would put a little conditioner on their hair before putting on their caps, though I never did.

I don't swim every day, but use the Aubrey Organics swimmers shampoo and conditioner. You can buy it at Whole Foods, it's not too expensive, and it seems to work well. My light-blond daughter has never turned green.

Vinegar rinse, also, about once per week. Yes, works wonders and counteracts the green.

I use Aveda Sun Care Hair and Body Cleanser. It is expensive though. Before I started having my hair colored I used Ultraswim Moisturizing Chlorine Removal Shampoo. It works well. My kids use it now.

My daughter has long hair and swims everyday. We need to find something that will prevent her hair from turning into straw. Any advice? I usually try to use more natural products, but I'm not sure if they will cut it.
