I just read House of Spirits by Allende and I wanted to live in that book forever. Also Sandcastle Girls by Chris Bohjalian. I also loved A Thousand Splendid Suns. And the Story of Edgar Sawtelle.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane. Finished it in one night and still thinking about it.

My mom is still angry about the fact that I "made" her read the Flannery O'Connor short story "A Good Man is Hard to Find", which I thought was awesome. She brings this up 4 or 5 times a year, often to strangers. I was in 10th grade when I recommended it to her. She's been complaining for about 30 years at this point.

Oh, yes. A Fine Balance by Rohinton Mistry. Such a good book.

I loved that too, so much.

Oh gosh, yes. I just downloaded her newest book.

Also, "One Day" by David Nicholls. It was a very cheesy movie, but I'm a sucker for a well-written love story.

I just got finished The Secret Life and am terribly sad that it is over. It is a pretty long book and despite working full time, I read it in 3 days. I could not put it down.

Please do -- I'm into YA books right now. Just finished The Giver and loved it.

Divergent series. There. I said it. 2nd book is the best. (hangs head in shame.)

Name it! I'm not too ashamed to post all my YA and New Adult nonsense on Goodreads. You can post on an anonymous board.

Yes, a Thousand Splendid Suns. It was beautiful and heart breaking.

Once in a blue moon I will read something that really grabs me and holds on - such that I will reread sections and really have almost a painful feeling of loss when the book ends. I find myself thinking about it and almost trying to find moments that resonate in the book in my own life for days on end.

Does this happen to anyone else? Or am I just a little bit cray cray?
