Sincere question for those who like it:how are you able to get past the smell? I've heard it's delicious like custard, but if taste and smell are linked, how do you get to the deliciousness without having the sewage smell kill the experience?

I've seen durian in the refrigerated case at the Wheaton H-Mart but I don't know how fresh it is. The smell of the cut fruit turns my stomach.

Love Durian. I've seen it fairly regularly at H Mart. If you've never had it before, cut and enjoy it outside. Very stinky like a sewer. The produce selection at HMart is great. I love it when they have lychee - short season and highly perishable fruit.

Really....that may be my least favorite food every. Ugh. Ugh. I love all the No Durian posters around Malaysia

Not sure about Durian in particular, but Super H Mart in Fairfax has lots of produce you won't find at Giant/Harris Teeter/Safeway.

Ethnic grocies like H-Mart, Great Wall etc. Not sure if they have durian, but they have a lot of tropical produce.

I've never tried durian, but want to try some, and expand my produce knowledge. Any place to get good quality "exotic" fruits and vegetables?
