At the very least go to Target and get him a few creeper tshirts so he fits in.

Seriously. Every single 6-12 year old boy and a lot of the girls too are playing and talking about minecraft.

Who cares what other kids do? If they all jumped off the end of the pier -- or when they start smoking, drinking and getting high -- would you want your kid to follow, or do you make your own decisions for them?

Minecraft is disgusting. I wish I had never let my 10 year old play it. It is not the creative, intellectual game it's made out to be. It seems to be about killing -- killing animals, creepers, etc. Yuck.

If someone came up with a game that was ACTUALLY as Minecraft is described, they could make a fortune. Anyone?

I let my 9 year old play, but he doesn't play on servers.

My 7 year old plays it and this is my only concern. It's the first time I've ever had to set a time restriction on technology.

But the game is great. Kids can get very creative in it. I play with him, so I know what's going on.

My 9 year old son has never played it and he's fine with plenty of friends (some of whom do play it). However, he has no interest. If he were asking, I might at least look into it. Seems pretty harmless.

My 9 and 7 year old both play creative mode. Minecraft entertained them on a long distance flight yesterday. My 9 year old built a replica of the Trojan Horse out of bricks - not sure what's so wrong about that.

Why don't you want him to play?

He is awfully old for not being allowed to llay minecraft.

Will my 9 year old be stigmatized if he isn't allowed Minecraft? He hasn't asked until recently and now its a constant question. Do some people allow Minecraft but only in the Creative mode? Or is that impossible with a 9 year old boy?
