+1. Also second the farro suggestion and wheat berries.

I clicked on this thread to say exactly this. I tried farro for the first time last year, and it's been my favorite grain ever since.

Serve it plain with butter/EVOO and salt, or cold with sautéed veggies & dressing, or look up the Smitten Kitchen recipe for one-pot farro with tomatoes.

creamy polenta
grits (at least it's white)
oatmeal (for breakfast)

try toasting the quinoa b/f you cook it and keep introducing things even if they aren't a big hit

Carbs are not bad for you. You want quality carbohydrates, but "carbs" are not problematic.

Try barley (or even pearl barley), various lentils, wild rice, or maybe just start using whole wheat pasta, if your kids will go for that. Or try mixing different kinds of rice (lots of grocery stores sell pre-mixed packages)

My kids love white rice and only white rice. I have tried basmati brown, no. Quinoa, no. Brown rice, no. I am looking for lower carb grains to feed the whole family will eat.

Thank you.
