Just looked at the backside of the schedule.

It is a prelim placement and will be adjusted accordingly once the official SOL scores come in.

Sounds like it is just a placeholder for their administrative purposes which makes more sense.

I don't think 480 is one question away from pass advanced because my child got a 490. In his center, out of over 100 kids, only twenty or so did NOT pass advanced.

It was 490. Not 480.

My 6th grader came home after the 6th grade history SOL sure he did not miss any. He got a 579 on that, but a 600 on 7th grade math and reading.

I don't know why either as we did not ask for it.

It is just a prelim schedule and the SOL results are not the final one. Perhaps the SOL scores will change when the official results come out, or perhaps the math placement will be different when she receives her actual schedule in the fall.

I am not worried about it now. We will roll with whatever class she ends up with in the fall.

Do the SOL scores ever change between the initial score report and the final score report due to things like a faulty question being thrown out?

^^We really like the teacher and think she did an excellent job, so we were really bummed about not getting passed advanced. My kid usually scores well and she wanted to make the teacher look good

In past years my kid has gotten all 600s.

This year, 6th grade, child got one 600, on upper 500s and a 480 on the 7th grade math SOL.

She said that as kids were peeking at the results she could hear exclaimations of 480 in Math! From kid after kid. She said she knows of only one in her class that got over 500, but many with 480.

What grade and subjects?

is it difficult to get full score in all subjects in SOL?
