I'm the one who suggested not clicking on redfin posts if they bother you. We are currently using redfin and are happy with them. I can understand why people would want more info about them though and I think that's a legimate post. I don't understand why people are thinking that all the redfin posters are the same. Maybe there's just a lot of redfin love out there in 2014.

No way. I'm not comped by Redfin, a sockpuppet or a pot stirrer. I'm just a person living in the DC area who used Redfin in real life.

OP Redfin has a team, it's not just one realtor working with you. They all help on different aspects and there's always someone to call. I didn't have any mistakes with my sale and purchase. But of course if you're spending $$$ it's always good to read contracts!

Make sure you market your home on your local neighborhood listserve, if they allow it. People that want to live in certain areas will subscribe to a listserve and are prime candidates as potential buyers.

Make sure your house flyers are posted on your neighborhood bulletin boards and resource centers. Is there a local Bus, Boys and Poets? Elevation Burger, they all have public bulletin boards.

Some neighborhoods, like the Hill, create a Sunday open house flyer, see if your neighborhood was one. If they do, contact the creator of the flyer to see if they will list your open house.

I have friends who are using Redfin to purchase in a VERY competitive market in Oakland. Originally they were working with a more junior agent. She made a few mistakes (i.e. referring to them by the wrong names in an email to a listing agent). None of those mistakes caused them to lose an offer (they were being outbid by a lot) but they complained and began working with someone more senior. They recently had an offer accepted and are moving to closing.

Using Redfin as a buyer is fine in > 90% of all purchases.

I used as a buyer just in the past month. No issues and it was no different than another realtor.
