Agree, it's just part of the risk of on-line dating. Some people are sincere, some are not (and some are just chicken). That's why it's important to not focus on any one person, because it takes awhile to discover someone's true character. Get back in the saddle, OP!

Happened to me once. He messaged me the next day with a lame excuse/ not sure if he was married or just a big chicken. Either way, no loss. Consider yourself lucky.

I am not sure whether or not this is common, but this is quite rude and very inconsiderate. Do you think he saw you waiting for him + decided on the spot that you were simply not "his physical type" so he just left?

Anyway, I guess this is one of the risks of online dating, but please do not let this one bad experience make you jaded. Not all guys are duds like this one and while I would be angry and hurt, I would keep trying.

Hopefully karma will get this loser and he will find himself in your shoes and get his ass stood up next time by someone.

I met a guy online who honestly seemed like a nice, down to earth guy. He initiated conversation and asked me for coffee. We were supposed to meet tonight. I drove 45 minutes away and waited 40 minutes - he never showed up! I tried texting him and received no response. I got played! Has this happened to anyone? Is this common with online dating? I feel so incredibly stupid.
