So what? I don't get all the whining. If something is important to you, make the choice to do it.
Anonymous wrote:Yes, there are MCPS teachers who want to attend and are willing to testify. However, the trial is scheduled for the first week of school. I suspect that is no coinidence.
Anonymous wrote:The last time that Joynes was in court was in February. There was a status hearing yesterday where Joynes did not need to be present. His trial date is August 25th which is scheduled to be a fourteen day jury trial.
All of you could have looked this up on the court website.

What does it mean to be "on restriction" as a teacher?
I teach for MCPS and I have no idea what you are talking about.
You're an MCPS teacher and did not hear about this? I'm an MCPS teacher and could not escape hearing about it. Look up the case. The principal and others knew/suspected something "iffy" at best was going on, but did things like making him keep his door open and not allowing him to be alone with individual students, rather than getting the police involved or actually protecting kids.
Lawrence Joynes, New Hampshire Estates ES. Google it.
Maybe she didn't understand because the original post is a mess.

Anonymous wrote:Did anyone go? Any word on when there will be a real trial? Will any of the other teachers or the principal who placed him on restrictions but determined that he could continue to have access to the kids be called to testify???
