Most of the time it's tenant neglect of the air filter or they ignore the issue until the hottest day of the year when everyone is backed up by a week.

+1 if my landlord didn't get someone out same or next day to fix broken AC between Memorial and Labor Days I would not be staying there much longer - definitely not renewing my lease with you and/or looking for ways to get out of my lease early. You are a shitty landlord, OP.
Shit happens, deal with it. You are not entitled to any sort of magical treatment above and beyond what an owning resident gets.

Landlord here - high of 70 tomorrow - they may need the heat, not the AC.
I would tell them your company that you always use is coming first thing on Monday. Sorry for the inconvenience. I also wouldn't compensate them $50 - stuff breaks and you are on top of it.

I think the weekend is supposed to be fairly mild so it's not really an emergency.
If you choose not to replace it until monday, compensate your tenants for the inconvenience somehow. Perhaps lower their rent by $50 for a few months.

It's rather miserly to not fix a rental AC for 3 days given Washington Metro humidity. Remember, an air conditioner is a de-humidifier. I'd call in your HVAC person.

No one can come until Monday (we've called around) unless it is an emergency call out - several extra hundred dollars. I've checked the weather 81 today, 64 tonight, 70 Saturday, 81 Sunday. Hardly seems like an emergency call is necessary with these temps. I live in the same climate in a house without AC.
