OP, do you want to switch houses so you can do some renovations on the neighbors house that you wish you could do to yours? That might be one of the weirdest ideas I've heard

sure. life is short, you never know when you won't be able to get a redo on the crumbling 50's. so swap out that 3 car & 4k. that's called striking while the iron is hot.

Close your eyes and imagine what the expression on the neighbor's face will be when this person goes over to explain this "plan". lol

Well, before you approach them about whatever you want to do to tear down their house, it might be best if you form a coherent sentence.

What? You want to redo the house you did like before but before prices were like they are now because your neighbors are old and want to stay longer than they can stay in their 50s place and yours is only 5 years old so that works better and that is the conclusion you came to after thinking it over?
Is that right?

We both have similar land, our house is new, theirs is crumbling. They know that their house is 1950s and to stay as long as they want, they have to rebuild. Anyway, I'm simplifying this but we have a 4K sq foot house 3 car garage, with major upgrades that is 5 years old- their house is a tear down (and they said this). What we want to do is almost redo a portion of what we did when prices were not so crazy like now. We have come to the conclusion that it would be better to redo what was done - please help us explain why we want this done without it sounding like there is something wrong with our house (there isn't). Neighbors are interested since building new is too much for them (I'm saying this in simplified manner).
