MARC is good for Baltimore.

We've done Philly by train.

Baltimore, philly and NY are all easy. Renting a car is also easy and cheap if you want to go to seaside etc.

Worked great for us. It's a great way to go.
Easy walk from the station to our hotel and the historic area.

We took the train to Williamsburg for Great Wolf Lodge. You could also be more cultured and take the train to see the historical stuff.

Take the train - metro and then MARC - to Baltimore. Tons of things to do.
