Reminds me of when my family lived off of Grubb Road when I was born and this area was still pretentiously referred to as "East Chevy Chase." Just a hop, skip and a jump from Wheaton.

I live almost across from the Deli, and two things:1) it's at least 10 minutes to Wheaton, in no traffic. Not exactly a hop skip and jump to get take out. 2) Technically, West of Grubb Road is Chevy Chase, at least according to the Post Office (east is Silver Spring). I concur it's not what everyone thinks of when they say CC, but it is what it is.

Oh, please. It can take 20 minutes to find a legal parking space at Ruan Thai. I could have taken the shortcut to the deli and already be sipping my coffee in that time. You all have a lot to learn about navigating around this area.

Unless you are handicapped or otherwise can't walk, this should not be the case. There is often street parking on the same block and if that isn't available, there's a massive county parking lot 2 blocks away. When we take my mom (who does not walk well) we drop her off at Ruan Thai and continue on to the lot. It takes us less than 5 minutes to walk it. If we're getting takeout, we do the same. It's not that hard.

Also, Parkway Deli sucks. But that is another issue.

Oh good, more arguing.

OP, I started a similar thread a few months ago. It is not solely for take-out, however. Here it is.

Full Key in Wheaton for Chinese El Pollo Rico for Peruvian rotisserie chicken

If you want a sit down place, try Woomi Garden for Korean BBQ.

Sorry, but I would hardly call the Parkway Deli "very" close to Wheaton, it's a good 15 minutes away!

No, my dear, it's about 5 minutes away. Take GA Avenue South to E-W highway.

Or jump on Forest Glen/Seminary to Brookville to Grubb. There in a flash.

New Kam Fong is the best Chinese in Wheaton. Excellent food, great prices, especially at lunch and the servers are great with my kid.

Not exactly Wheaton, but close enough...

Old Town Market in Kensington for sandwiches

Sub-Urban Trading Co. is right next door and they always have something different on the menu.

Grateful for any recommendations. We've already tried Ren's Ramen and Ruan Thai. Thanks.
