about 15 minutes from the city off 95 is http://www.playroomparty.com/ (that works for everyone in your age group)

Stony Point Fashion park has the pop-up water fountains (not sure how long 7 year old would be interested)

Childrens Musuem, couple of locations. Usually a mad house from 10-1pm with groups.

and Maymont has an indoor Nature Center (just the right size I think). Make sure you know where you want to go in maymont to figure out where to park.

Metro Richmond Zoo has a giraffe, The Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is a pretty setting with a butterfly exhibit, Maymont Estate has beautiful gardens and a children's farm barn open 12-5. Nearby Pocohontas State Park has an aquatic center with a fun splash park pool, hiking and a lake for canoeing etc.

Meeting friends in Richmond for the day and will have kids ages 2-7 in tow. I'm not familiar with the area - does anyone have ideas for some fun, kid friendly activities? TIA!
