I don't know what the PPs are thinking but your mother sounds very annoying and nosey. If my mother asked me that stuff on a regular basis, I'd probably tell her to MYOB or cut ties.

Maybe she wishes you guys were closer and is trying to see if there is anything you'll open up to her about? Like if she brings it up first you'll say "why yes mom. We are having problems but I didn't know how to just start talking about it. So here is what's going on"

She constantly, gleefully asks if I'm having marriage problems. She will out of the blue say she's worried about my health. Or that she's there to listen if I need to talk. The kicker is that I'm super happy and healthy so why is she constantly hoping some ill will befall me? So sick and twisted and it makes me avoid talking to her.
