The college majors of engineering and computer science are two of the hardest to get into. Think safety schools if she does want to apply for engineering.

Since it's for ugrad in ME, CE or Environ Eng, what kind of research opportunities do you mean? If she goes with Environ Eng, she should probably major in ChemE and minor in Environ Eng or do a masters in it.

Nephew just graduated from there. Of course, excellent engineering school. But like anywhere else, the fit has to be right. I could have never survived at 18 at a giant school, Later, it was a different story,

My DC is going to Michigan but not in engineering.

DD, a rising senior, is interested in Michigan for engineering. Based on counselor's advice and Naviance, we're pretty sure she can get in and that she'd love the culture at Michigan.* I'd appreciate any and all advice and perspectives from those with current or recent experience with the undergrad engineering program. In particular, we're interested in information on research opportunities for u-grads, how much attention faculty give to u-grads, and employment prospects/career paths for recent grads. At this point DD is most interested in mechanical or civil/environmental engineering. Thanks!

*We know A2 and UofM pretty well, but engineering not so much -- we are the clueless lawyer parents who have posted before asking for advice re engineering.
