Wow...To a middle-schooler today this movie will probably seem so old-school. Lol.

Talk about a time warp...Thirty years to be exact.

Toatlly inappropriate for middle school.

There are worse things--it's mostly sex.

"Featured in the film is a fifteen-year-old girl becoming pregnant and having an abortion, simulated oral sex using produce, and a male character masturbating. The film treats the topic of sex seriously, though, and does not glorify or advocate casual sex"

Plenty of talking points.

Yes to drug use -- although they don't show it.

We watched it while on vacation with extended family; it was a big hit with all the kids. My youngest nephew who's 12 particularly enjoyed it, and has since taken to addressing his oldest cousin, who's 24 as "a righteous dude".

It's a classic. I've had good luck with Common Sense Media reviews:

Just a little mild language and making out in the pool at the end.

That's my favorite movie of all time I loved it in high school!

We have been going through the old 80s movies this spring.

Goonies, Karate Kid. Ferris Bueler is next on the list

There's definitlely assholishness too.

Okay, thanks!

So about as innocent as I remember and much less graphic than the average middle school.

Fairly mild on the teen movie front and much better than waht is available now.

I plan to watch this with my middle schooler.

I don't remember any nudity or recreational drug use. Is my memory faulty in my old age?
