My family is ok as long as pg still provides transportation. However this can throw a wrench in a car rider or before/after care parents... Smh this is crazy

Maybe they have to calculate available locations and distance to transport kids from each geographic area. size of student pop compared to available rooms, etc. Each school with a temporary relocation has parent info meetings. I'm not A GA parent, so I don't know when your meetings were held .

I am wondering if any of the Glenarden parents have been notified. Why does the administration make decisions and then it trickles down to the parents just before school is over for the year? That leaves little time and energy to inquire, rally and try to persuade alternative decisions.
If you had any idea about the work that goes into finding and preparing a suitable location to temporarily house an entire school, you might view this differently. It stinks to have kids have to travel any farther than necessary; that's always one of the drawbacks of a TAG center.
I don't know about the exact process or timing for GA Woods, but I do know many sites are considered before a decision is made... and really, how many quality empty schools are sitting around waiting to be used while one school gets a total reno. The schools not scheduled for reno will have more to complain about than the parents in the school that are up for renovation.
