This makes me LOL.

If you're afraid to wear a regular sized diamond ring on the metro, you have fear issues that are irrational.

I am careful when I sit near a door with my phone and probably wouldn't use my iPad, but come on people. Someone MIGHT see your ring and think "I bet they have cash in their wallet" but no one is likely to bother you if you look alert and confident.

Yes-- crime on metro is mostly crime of opportunity. Hence, the snatching of iPhones, iPads, etc. To steal an engagement ring is pretty violent-- not likely to happen.

This is inspired by a comment a co-worker made to me; she said she only wore a wedding ring and not her engagement ring because she felt it was too gaudy and unsafe for the metro. Her engagement ring, in my opinion, is beautiful but modestly sized at probably around .5ct. We do work in a gentrified area where crime is on the rise.

So, do you wear your engagement ring or other jewelry on the metro?
