Traffic is not as bad on Fridays. I like the idea of having the weekend with my family and then having Monday to get ready for the week (cook, shop, etc.) and do things that I didn't get done with the kids underfoot. The biggest disadvantage that I can see is that I will lose at least 5 paid holidays per year (MLK Day, Pres. Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day). I guess I will shift the Sunday night blues to Monday, but that is unavoidable. I also worry that there are typically more meetings and such scheduled for Mondays than Fridays, but I will have to work around that. I also considered taking off Wednesday but that has its own advantages/disadvantages. What would you do?
I telework on Wednesdays and couldn't be happier as i get more office work and work at home things done done mid-week. Mondays prep for the week and Fridays wrap up the week and you also mentioned a lot of missed 3-day weekend holidays. The week ends up going faster with 2 days in the office, then home a day, then back in the office for 2 more days.
