most them I hate because they're all ugly, however I have 10 in my house, but they're modern look one that was sold in HD design center about 10 years ago.

I think a ceiling fan is an essential part of every bedroom. Couldn't live without. I like them in any living room with high ceilings as well. But we don't use ac till it gets pretty warm out. I love having the house open to fresh air.

OP,

This thread made me think of the Trading Spaces show and how they pretty much took down every ceiling fan they came across b/c they didn't fit the design esthetic. These people were basically idiots. There are definitely ugly ceiling fans out there, but you can find some lovely ones that cool you off to boot. What could be better? Embrace the ceiling fan--not literally of course.

You'd be crazy not to have them. They're wonderful

Love them and look for them when looking at houses. Just make sure they are nice-looking.

TOTALLY minka aire, they look and work great, and are so much better than some of the wobbly 80s brass versions I've seen out there.

We have them in all bedrooms and use them all year long. Definitely not a turnoff unless they are ugly like the one in my bedroom! Someday we'll get around to changing that out...

+1. We like them in the summer, especially when it's hotter in the upstairs bedrooms than the main living area. Why cool the entire house while you're sleeping when no one' seven on the main level. We use the fans to supplement the AC and keep the air circulating at night.

I love them, and if you buy ones that are nice and proportioned properly in the room they are not a turn off at all!

Are they a turn off? We are considering them for cooling this summer instead of always turning on the Ac but are worried it will look old fashioned and a bit strange.
