Starbucks food is stale, moldy and processed.

I used to work at Starbucks in Canada. Up here, the pastries are baked fresh and delivered every morning. Suckaaaas

I thought they were baked for Starbucks somewhere else and brought in, like, every day or every-other or something.
As for Whole Foods, I don't buy that stuff very often, but nevertheless, I dearly hope that isn't true.

They used to be. Back in the day we got fresh pastries every morning and had to throw out the leftovers every PM. This was late 90s.

Well here is just one more reason I miss the 90s. Add this reason to the pile....

Where did you think they were "baking" them?

You only have to walk into the same store a few days in a row to realize the same crap is still sitting on the shelves.

Worst is the "freshly made" meals at Whole Foods, etc. I've walked past the same sad stacks of cold salmon and veggie lasagne for over a week.

Wow. I hate to have my naivity thrown in my face, but I thought they were fresh. God, I honestly feel taken advantage of now.

I saw the pastries in a pile, still in their wrappers. Clearly, Starbucks unwraps them to make them look better and "fresher," but they all come in plastic and pre-cooked. Bummer.

The bought out the La Boulangerie chain but I don't think they have figured out what to do yet. I bought something recently thinking it might be fresh but it was clearly not. But I assume that at least in some of its stores it will have fresh pastries otherwise it seems like a very odd purchase. Then again, Starbucks has botched just about every food try to date.

Starbucks is obvs trying to make you think their pastries are fresh with their new "la Boulange" promo. Pretty sure it's te same crap it was. But they do call it a bakery. Misleading to say the least.

because normally they display them under glass and put them in a paper bag. I never saw the clear plastic wrapper before. I felt like I was buying a hostess cupcake for my child.

I firmly believe they should just stick to beverages. I think the quality of their sandwiches/pastries/muffins weakens the brand.

Agree, their pastries suck.

I do like their giant chocolate chip cookies, however.

let's at least pretend that your pastries are "fresh".

Handing me a scone in a plastic wrapper that has a best by date more than 4 months out has really soured me to your food items.
