You realize this is based on a book right?

Ugh, so sickof hearing about the freaking book. Let the series live on its own, people!!

I think pp was making the point that "They" have nothing to do with it. The violence is part of the original storyline.

I really dislike you GoT TV fans. Such wimps.

I loved the show starting out, but as all the protagonists die, I'm caring less and less.

At this point, who's left that I care about? Maybe Tyrion and Arya. That's about it.

game of thrones does the gore and violence really well.

spartacus was just over the top and stupid.

I rewatched the pilot recently and giggled over how horrified I was. Now I'm so desensitized to the prospect of death and violence, I keep my blinders close at hand. I knew something bad was coming when Oberyn was traipsing about after stabbing his opponent, but I was really hoping I was wrong.
Ah well. I'm sure Tyrion will weasel his way out of this one too.
It must be fun to film!

DH read the books, i did not, and he said the scene is in the book. the mountain crushes the prince of dorn's head, just like he did his sister's.

so in this case, they seem to be going for violence for violence's sake this... book. actually all of the books. get ready for more!

Valar morghulis = "all men must die"

its a recurring, some would even say foundational theme of the books/series.

I don't know. After the crossbow and Roz a few seasons back I was pretty much clear that anything is on the table with GoT.

I can sense when these things are coming, so I covered my eyes last night.

Too much? I think so. I like the show, but it's getting to be a bit much.
