Where is the evidence of this? I agree that this is a questionable exchange mostly based on the precedent that it sends for AWOL service members, but what info do you have to backup that the exchanged gitmo members were any real threat, or had anything to do with being "killers?"

But Obama issued a signing statement effectively saying that he didn't like that provision and wasn't going to follow it.

Wait, didn't he basically campaign against Bush's use of signing statements. Oh Barry, governing is so hard.

Israel has been doing prisoner exchanges for years. If it was a huge mistake, they would have figured it out by now.
