I'm happy to clean very well! We would do that anywhere. I got a nice bottle of scotch and two bottle of wine and a gift certificate for Uncle Bills pancake house where they like to eat with their two kids in the morning.

That sounds totally perfect and if I were the host, I would have you back again!

Just as a benchmark to give you a sense of what it may be costing your friends, utilities and cleaning cost us about $300-350 for a week (that's the utilities used that otherwise wouldn't be used if the house was vacant).

Nice gifts we've gotten include wine, nice serving dishes, gift certificates for nice restaurants, gift certificate for the local hardware store, etc.

Hi pp, how big is your house? We are staying in a friends 550 sq ft condo and would like to compensate them even though it's been offered to us for free.

That's about the size of my condo. I would estimate that my costs for a weekend visitor are about $150 to $200.

Sounds about right. Cleaning will be at least $100.

4 BRs, 3.5 bas. SFH. We don't rent it out but market rate would be c. $4000/week in season.

I usually have the house professionally cleaned before I leave.
