I would love to have some hosta too. I think they would be so perfect in my front bed but, in the past I've found that deer eat them like candy. And, we frequently have deer.
hydranea are pretty easy to grow...they are deer resistant so no issues there. Will grow ok in part shade, will do very well in sun also. They do need a little acidity so would like some compost or holly tone every now and then, but overall very good, easy plants to grow.
