Both times, first didn't work, my husband was fine. He even went grocery shopping before coming home from doctors. He was a little sore next morning but mowed the lawn and went fishing.

I was miserable for a week. Every step felt like someone was tapping my testicles with a hammer. A week out and I was panicking that the pain would be permanent. Then it got pretty suddenly better. Completely back to normal in 2-3 weeks.

My husband's didn't "take". He had to have it done again, haven't taken the test yet.

OP here and we really want to be sperm free after the first test. I'm assuming the more we "use it" the better the chance?

Yep, took 6 months for the sperm to be gone. Of course I got pregnant during that time -- yes we know how babies are made. So just make sure they are gone not just low.

8 weeks later. Completely gone for me.

Dh is scheduled for a vasectomy and I couldn't be more excited, no more condoms! Just a couple questions though. How long after the vasectomy do they do the sperm test? Has anyone had an experience here where the sperm were not gone after the first test?
