22:04 again - we liked it too! Your post reminded me that I haven't yet been back to try their buffet and see how it compares. But very impressed by takeout.

Jaipur is my favorite. Haandi is nice and very good too, but Jaipur is outstanding. Angeethi in Herndon is also very very good.

Haandi (obviously popular here!) and Jaipur in Fairfax are my top 2 - the buffet at Jaipur is spectacular.

Aroma in Arlington is my favorite for now. Best chicken mahkani around

Diya in Tysons is supposed to have good food.

I personally have never eaten there because I find most Indian food in restaurants to be too salty and too oily. So we just cook what we want at home for the most part and when we eat out we try other cuisines.

As a general rule, the best Indian restaurants that serve authentic and good food are frequented by Indian customers. Unfortunately many don't offer the best ambiance and the other problem with Indian restaurants is that if the chef changes - which does happen more frequently than one would expect - the quality of the food changes quite dramatically.

Have you tried Bombay Tandoor near Tysons Corner? Very popular.

IndAroma in Alexandria is very casual (great for take-out - you can eat there, but there's not really table service) - but it's excellent. I say this as a picky Indian person.

Indigo in NE DC is really good.

Have been in DC for 5 yrs and still haven't found really good indian. Prefer NOVA, but at this point, we'd consider almost any kind of drive.
