Op here. Thanks for all the suggestions!

To the PP re: how much meat I need, I totally agree. I would love to move towards a less meat based diet. However, I have some serious health-based dietary restrictions that will continue after the pregnancy along with a DH and DS who are both very low weight with high metabolisms and none of us enjoy beans/legumes. Hence, highly meat based meals are the only options that allow the whole family to eat one meal and still get our caloric/protein needs met. I'm looking forward to the time when that isn't the case and I can move towards a much more plant based diet!

One thought is that you should just stop eating so much meat.

There's no getting around that organic/sustainable/non-factory meat costs more. And more of it costs even more.
That said, go to Costco. Unless you're buying straight from the farmer, that's as good as it gets, and a lot cheaper than WF/MOM/TJ's.

If you go by tomorrow, Whole Foods is doing $10 off $50 in the "fill the grill" sale. Make sure to get the coupon from the butcher counter.

Baby#2 will arrive in the next 2-3 weeks and I'm planning to embark on my first experiment with bulk freezer meal prep this week to help prepare. I've figured out which recipes I want to use, put together a schedule for which meals to make each day this week, and compiled a massive shopping list. It is many (many) lbs of meat. Typically I lean towards organic/sustainably raised meats and while I'd like to do that here, I don't know if my bank account can take the his of purchasing 2-3 months worth of Whole Foods priced meat at once. Recommendations on the best grocery stores in the area (moco) for affordable meats. If possible, I'd still like to avoid factory farmed chicken and beef, but I'm recognizing that I'm going to have to make some compromises in the spirit of making things easier when the baby arrives.
