Skip the birthday parties and go to the park!

Although our days our always busy, my husband and I trade off morning duty. So I at least still get my lazy Sunday mornings and almost always get to read the paper.

I think I'll be skipping birthday parties when the time comes I plan on being the laziest parent in the land

Plus 1.
The grass isn't always greener on the other side...I would love to have my kids be little again and snuggle up in bed with us. The newspaper can wait.

Yeah, it goes so fast. Mine are 8 and 10 and I savor the little-kid things they still do and say because I know we are at the tail end of that stage.

lol... How do they always manage to hit the dog in the one place where the dog can't clean himself?! These babies are sure-shot geniuses!

I simplify Sunday mornings by watching my church service streaming online. These stressful years when they're little will be over before you know it and you will have may quiet Sundays again and long for these days. You have the most important job there is - being mommy. I'm sure you are doing a fine job.

Hmmm... Remember waking up late on Sunday morning, making love and then talking about the great party you went to the night before? In a weird way, I miss the occasional Sunday morning hangover - at least I knew I did something fun the night before!

It does get better when they get older. My 8 year old is pretty much self-sufficient on weekend mornings so I just got out of bed 10 mins ago. He already ate breakfast and I will eat soon. I'm a single mom but if your husband does nothing, I would definitely figure out a way for you to have time to yourself. Go get a pedicure and coffee and let him deal with the kids for a few hours. And skip all of the birthday parties. I didn't have the $ to buy a lot of gifts so my son only went to the parties of the kids he was actually friends with.

I'm looking forward to having lazy-assed teenagers who don't roll out of bed until noon -- so we can sleep past six AM on Sunday morning!

When the youngest turns 5, you may be able to occasionally read the Sunday paper, as I am today for the first time in two weeks

Yep, I was just dreaming about the day when they are out of diapers and old enough to plop in front of cartoons and not feel guilty about it. Only like 5 more years to go... sigh...

You still get a newspaper delivered?

It's a little after 9AM and the baby dumped his cereal on the dog's head and my three-year-old wet his bed and our bed. We have two kid birthday parties today...

Another Sunday where DH and I will look at the folded newspaper and never read a word of it.
