You couldn't google this, OP?

From WebMD: "Start at the top of your hip bone, then bring the tape measure all the way around, level with your belly button. Make sure it's not too tight and that it's straight. Don't hold your breath while measuring."

Well, which is it? My "natural waist" is several inches higher and thinner than just below my navel.

This is incorrect.

They are supposed to be taken just below the navel and with your stomach relaxed using a tape measure.

Waist measurements are supposed to be taken above the belly button at the thinnest part of your stomach area.

I was just wondering....How importantis your waist measurement in regard to your overall health?

I am a woman and have been told that if your waist is larger than 34', you are more likely to have a stroke, cancer, diabetes and many other diseases.

So I took a tape measure and measured my waist today. (Below the belly button, no sucking in.) I measured 40'.

Is extra belly fat really so unhealthy?

Your thoughts?
