Financing/ refinancing are so complicated and time consuming here.I have a farm Europe which I wanted to refinance after my divorce. It took me 3 e-mails and 800 euroes the get it refinanced.
Not refinancing anything here in US.The lower rate I'd get=refi costs.

I'd show up at closing but if anything at all isn't 100% buttoned up tighter than my wife's asshole I'd walk.

Disclaimer: I own a title company

It's not that you are being unreasonable but like most of America you purchased a service as if it were a commodity. You went for the least expensive option of the same product (in this case a mortgage) and then are upset that the service is mediocre.

If you've locked in a great rate and rates are rising as you go through your process, it's not uncommon for the lender to screw up your deal so you don't close in time and they have to start the process over - at "today's" rate. This almost happened to me when I refinanced last year. When I realized what was happening I was all over them like white on rice, and started copying an attorney on all correspondence. I did close, but within a day of the deadline. Don't let them screw you!

Thanks for the feedback. They had said I needed to bring a bank check to closing and now are saying I have to wire the money. For some reason, it just doesn't sit right with me that there are all these last minute snafus. I've refinanced several times before and it was never such a hassle.

A little. It's your right to sink the deal, but it seems kind of petty-- and cutting off your nose to spite your face-- to do it over a couple hours notice.

IME loan processors are often late/disorganized/hard to deal with, but if you want the loan and you are comfortable they haven't screwed up, then I think you go with the flow a bit.

I am re-financing our mortgage supposedly through our current lender, but they are using a company called Ditech.
I am happy with the terms of the loan, but the loan processer is very disorganized. She is difficult to talk with on the phone, constantly talking over me, not answering questions, getting defensive.
We were supposed to complete the closing tomorrow, but I know that we are legally mandated to have 24 hours to review the HUD form. Not surprisingly, I didn't receive a copy of the HUD until after what the 24 hour cutoff would have been (by several hours)]
This means I wasn't able to get the bank check they need before I had to leave for work.
So I've sent emails letting them know that I can't proceed at the time they want, and that I want the 24 hours to review the information on my own.
The loan processor responded "don't worry, they will go over the papers with you tomorrow"
So now I've told them I am sticking to my right to have 24 hours to review it on my own and haven't heard back.
I know I'm being a bit of a b***h, but I am irritated with them and their lack of organization.
A refinance would be nice, but it isn't something I was even seeking until they contacted me.
So, do you think I am being unreasonable?
