Ranger Rick, Jr.! That and Ladybug. I love them both.

DS is 4. We get both Ladybug and High 5. He loves them both, but recently he has really started to enjoy the puzzles in High 5. Ladybug has better stories though.

We only get Ladybug (gift subscription) and my 4 year old loves it but it is almost completely just stuff to read--there is usually one little activity/craft thing in there. As I recall from my own childhood, Highlights has more little fun things to do in it.

I think 5 is a little young for Highlights. They do a magazine for younger kids called High Five that is good.

I love the ladybug family of mags and one nice thing is that if you decide you want a different magazine within that family (because your child is outgrowing that one, or wants to check out the science or history magazines) they will let you switch your subscription over at no charge.

Highlights, I think. Isn't Ladybug geared toward littler kids?

DS is turning 5 and would like a magazine. Can you tell me which is better? Thanks.
