Joss's is the best sushi in my humble opinion.

Yeah, I live in annapolis and my husband got food poisoning at chick and Ruth's. Many locals avoid it.

Outdoors in downtown is hard, go over the bridge to Eastport and you have carols creek, chart house, Davis pub

For crabs; cantlers or mikes

Coconut joes has awesome decks and sometimes steel drum band during the afternoon

JalapeƱos is the hidden gem in a strip mall, food is unbelievable

Be sure to stop there for the donuts! They're wonderful

Love love love Joss's
Is Tsunami still there? Its great for girl's weekend. Sushi is not as good as Joss's but more atmosphere.

Totally agree on both points.

Lots of good suggestions above. Avoid Buddy's Crabs, but other than that pretty much anything in the historic district is great.

Since it's a girls-trip, Reynolds Tavern has an awesome afternoon tea if that's something you might like.

Pussers is the only restaurant actually on the water with outdoor seating in the historic district. It's inside the marriot, but not "hotel restaurant"-y at all. It's not my favorite, but still good, and the view and atmosphere make up for the mediocre food.

Chart House and Carrol's Creek are on the water in Eastport (easy walk across a tiny bridge to get there) but no outdoor seating.

Phillips and Midletown Tavern are good options as well, both with outdoor seating. Be warned that Midletown Taverns outside seating is on benches, and that can get old real fast if you have someone with a bad back or something.

Chick & Ruth's Diner is an Annapolis staple
Galloway's is an Irish pub with re-imagined Irish classics
Crush has a great selection of wine
El Bravo is pretty decent Mexican
Treaty of Paris & Reynolds Tavern are both in historic buildings
Maria's is a great place for Italian

Ya... As you can probably tell from my list Annapolis has tons of options. Chart House is one of my favorites - not local (its a small chain) but you can't beat the view!

Do you like crabs?

Mike's Crab House in Riva. On the water, outdoor seating, super casual, tropical drinks.

It's been a year since I've been, but I love Metropolitan. It's an American restaurant with a good selection of food. They make tasty drinks and have a nice beer selection. The highlight is the rooftop seating. Very cool. It's next door to Lemongrass, which a pp recommended. I second that if Metropolitan doesn't do it for you. Have fun!

Oh, historic Annapolis is a foodie's dream. I love Lemongrass (Thai) , 49 West. Crush Wine Bar.

Rams Head has nice outdoor seating. Cantlers for real crabs and outdoor dining (on paper).

I need some good suggestions for a girls' night out dinner in the Annapolis area. Mid-priced, not a chain (not a big chain, anyway), no food allergies to speak of. No steak houses or sushi, please. Outdoor seating a bonus
