This isn't super-healthy (you can cut down on cheese to make it healthier) but it is surprisingly delicious:

Add fresh scallions and white cheese cubes.
Also, have you tried millet? Just as good and no bitter taste. $1.69 a pound in Whole foods.Eat with strawberries or bananas.

Mix it with hummus.
Mix it with guacamole.
Mix it with salsa.

There are tons of recipes out there. Do the above if it's cooked plain. I also add chopped arugula sometimes. Or chickpeas. All sorts of things.

Miso. I also agree with the suggestion of toasting it.

Your quinoa is bitter because it wasn't rinsed well enough before cooking. Quinoa has a bitter, soapy-tasting coating that is water soluable, but you have to rinse it thoroughly..

Use a fine-meshed sieve to rinse. Alternatively, you can buy pre-rinsed quinoa.

Cook it in broth. It kills most of the lingering bitter flavor. And after a while it begins to taste normal.

I make mine into a fried rice or jambalaya of sorts using diced smoked sausage, peas, carrots, etc. Add soy sauce or Cajun seasoning like you would in the rice dishes.

What would you add to some already cooked plain quinoa to make it palatable? Any special recipes, combination of veggies or other things, or sauces you like?
