If you think the seams will really bother you, you might want to look into getting MDF doors rather that solid wood. My understanding is that MDF will not have that seaming. We had white wood cabs installed last year and the seams are visible if you look really closely, but it's pretty subtle and doesn't bother me.

We have white painted cabinets in our master bath (not by choice, came w/ the house). The joints that where fully painted are now visible after about 2 years. I would have preferred stained like the other bathrooms and kitchen which don't show these seams.

Our kitchen designer had us sign a release that we knew that our white cabinets would have visible joints after time. They said it was standard. I am fine with it.

We just recently installed antique white cabinets. You definitely can see the seams where the boxes meet on those parts that aren't fully covered by doors. When they first went in it did bother me but I've lived with it for about a month and it doesn't bother me now. I guess the only way to avoid it would be to do fully custom-built cabinets, painting them after installation. That's not in our budget! So, I'm fine with it. But I'd definitely go with a full overlay door to minimize the amount of cabinet box showing.

We met this weekend with a kitchen designer at a big box store to talk about getting new kitchen cabinets. We want white cabinets and she warned us that white cabinets will show cracks between the joints on the door fronts and sides as the weather changes and the wood expands and contracts. We're not going to change our mind about the color but I'd like to ask you if you have white cabinets and if you have this issue. If so, does it bother you?
