That's exactly what happened. There wasn't much left and it all went to the relative who'd provided daily care the last few years of life.

I think early film stars were often under contract to powerful movie studios that kept most of the money and rights. So the stars didn't make much money from their work.

Anonymous wrote:I read about that when he died. Sad. At least his step son helped him out at the end. I read that he was a good person but in interviews he seemed like a difficult person.
