You wouldn't have been able to see anything anyway. Most of the events are in classrooms behind closed doors. The few events that are open for viewing are sure to be so mobbed by parents who are observing that you would have had to stand in the back.

Congratulations to all of the teams who did Division A yesterday!! Our team had so much fun....and learned so much in the past few months during their preparation. Amazing event!

The VASO website is very helpful. There is also a national website and wiki pages for the events. My child did it this year and it was quite a commitment (a couple hours per week for each event). DC LOVED it, though. DC wanted to do it, so that's probably why it was enjoyable. I saw other kids who were parent driven that seemed miserable. It's a big commitment unless your child is into it. My child liked the building events better than the test events.

Today's science olympiad, Lemon Road, Haycock, Greenbriar west did the best.

Greenbriar West has the strongest math/science club.

We have to buy a house very soon. Our child is in AAP and very interested in math and science, as many are here. Which elementary center schools have the strongest afterschool programs for Math and Science? We have heard of Haycock and Greenbriar West, but would like all options given the housing market. A great math/science coach can make all the difference. We are finding out that sometimes the bigger places are not so friendly or accommodating toward disabilities (not implying any school specifically). Please, we don't want negative comments about schools, but if you feel a school has a particularly great program please respond back with specifics. Thank you.
