This--they grow very well in this area--get large quickly. Incidentally, the deer Loooved our holly bushes.

The tall version of cherry laurel has been great for us. We also have a fence but wanted more. Evergreen, white flowers in the spring. Grows fairly quickly and likes both shade and sun.

The deer do not eat our Boxwood.

Laurels work well too. We have several otto luyken laurels and they also take pruning very well.

Figure out what kind of soil you have, what space you have, and how much sun the area gets.
