I love surface bassau! It's organic and no sulfates, etc. the shampoo is around 24. The conditioner is 20. It lasts for several months depending on the length of your hair. I've used a lot of salon brands but Surface has been my favorite.

Why moving away from Redken? That's what my salon colorist recommended. I use the ones in the red bottles.

What's your hair texture? Mine is fine, wavy and highlighted and the best s&c I've found are Kerastase Bain Satin 1 and the Lait Vital conditioner (orange bottles). The prices make me want to cry, but my hair has never felt silkier or looked better. I avoided the line for years because I thought it was an overpriced scam, but finally tried it after an excellent colorist who DIDN'T sell it recommended it to me. Darn it. She was right. And now I pay about 75 bucks for my s&c.

I like Aveda's color care line, and now Suave makes a version (in the Professionals line) that's much cheaper but just as good, IME.

Any recommended alternatives to Bumble & Bee's absurdly expensive shampoo for color treated hair? It's great, but not at $32.00/bottle.
How about the teeny bopper shampoo from Herbal Essence NAKED which also has no sulfates?

The Pureology in the purple bottle. A few different stylists have rec'd it to me. They also have a light conditioner (also for highlighted hair, same purple bottle) if you have fine or thin hair.

My mom swears by this shampoo. Thought about that or maybe one from the Organix line- they are all sulfate free.

Thanks everyone. Reviews are great on all of these. Just trying to get away from the Redken or Biolage that I've been using for years. Appreciate these other suggestions.

I have brown hair with blonde highlights. To keep from getting brassy I was told to use a shampoo with purple in it. If you google blonde purple shampoo you will find different brands. I was told that sometimes Marshall's carries some of these brands. I haven't tried it yet but plan on it.
