Has this always been the case or is it due to the new lottery system?

For simplicity, imagine a school with 3 grades: preK: 100% Inbounds, 2nd: 50% inbounds, 5th: 0% inbounds. Assuming an equal number of students for each grade, the reported IB percentage for the school = 50%.

To track the progress of LT moving to a higher IB percentage, what I would want to know is what percentage of the 5th grade class is IB, for the last 3 to 4 school years.

Here's the wait list information for charters: http://www.dcpcsb.org/Parents/Available-Charter-School-Seats-and-Wait-Lists.aspx

Some of the numbers are a little shocking. Over 1700 wait listed for Two Rivers and 400 seats still available at Meridian.

Where are you getting the inbounds vs OOB data? Thanks.

Not the PP, but if you click on the link in the original post there's a table that shows the number of in-boundary students who were matched for each grade at each school.

For Hearst, 22 students matched for PK4 were in-boundary and 3 had a proximity preference. Out of 39 kids matched, that's 64%

Has any organization published similar data for charters?

Yes, charter school board came out with this last week, though not quite as detailed. Don't have it in front of me, but you can check the threads here from late last week, because that's how I found out about it.

I think a lot of schools are changing because of renovations and/or demographics. Hearst rising PK4 class is 65% in bounds--a big change.

Yes, it was posted in another thread, don't recall the same. This thread, however makes it more clear.
