I would start with summer clinics. We did them last summer and my 7 YO enjoyed them.

You may want to also explore a camp? Maybe something like Sticks Lacrosse (note - I am not sure if they are running a camp this summer- but I was impressed with it a few years ago)

Call Bethesda lacrosse and ask if they have any recommendations on camps that may be good for kids who have not had a lot of exposure.

Thanks for the info. We are doing a summer clinic and then rec league in the spring and possibly fall if all goes well.

It is what it is. There are few other local leagues.

I assume you are doing rec. it's fine to learn the basics. The coach will be a father so it is hit or miss on whether he can coach and if he plays favorites.

You should ask your son's friends what team they play for.

The travel teams are a bit of a mess, but they are getting rid of dads for older teams, which is a positive direction.

My son ( age 10) is interested in beginning lacrosse. Any thoughts regarding Bethesda LAX (bethesdalacrosse.org)? We live in Bethesda, obviously and we are thinking of signing him up for a clinic this summer and for the fall league. We are new to this sport.
