York Castle is good, but PP is right about the location - it's right on 355 with the seafood market next door. Not a place to let the kids run around.

Like 9:04, we usually go to Marble Slab in the Town Square for ice cream. The kids can play in the square, and it's a fun environment.

The other place we go frequently is Carmen's for Italian ice/frozen custard. They don't do regular ice cream, but it's delicious, and it's a fun neighborhood place with a park across the street. The sort of place where you always run into people you know.

I have not been, but I've heard that Sprinkles in Potomac Center is good.

The only one downside is that there is a seafood market right next door! We've sometimes found ourselves eating ice cream, while smelling fish. (not a fan of seafood, so maybe you wouldn't mind it as much if you are?)

Also agree with Bruster's in Gaithersburg - that's a favorite of ours, and worth the trip. I think kids get a free cone?

There needs to be more ice cream places around here! I hate that frozen yogurt crap!

Does Moorenko's taste better at the store? I have been underwhelmed by the pints at the grocery store.

Marble Slab in Rockville Town Square. Probably the only ice cream place where kids can easily run around while you hang out eating the ice cream.

Dolcezza is in Bethesda...(slightly further out than North Bethesda) and it's in the courtyard (no cars allowed) section. You will see lots of families and kids around there.

We're new to North Bethesda/Rockville and looking for real ice cream (no yogurt or shaved ice). Where is a good place to go? It would be ideal if it was a place we could hang out while the kids safely ran around on a summer night, but I'll settle for just good ice cream. Thanks.
