I am late 30s with a 3 year old. Before I had him, people always thought I looked younger than my age. After I had him, not as much. haha. He aged me about 10 years.

+1. I always say someone looks younger even if they really don't. It's not like I'm going to say they look their age. I'm also of the camp that it's better to say something nice than to not say anything at all.

I'm 36 y.o. with an infant, and I get told constantly that I look younger than I am. I don't think it's meant as a compliment, though, since it's often people wondering whether I'm still in high school/college (e.g. are you old enough to be married/have kids). For me it generally comes off as offensive as opposed to complimentary. Not to mention, if I were actually that young, it would be completely offensive for someone to speculate as to whether it's okay for me to have a kid.

No. I used to look younger than I was before having kids. Now all those sleepless nights and temper tantrums have left me looking 20 years older.

I'm 38 with kids who are 4 and 6. People are usually surprised to hear that I'm late 30's- most seem to think early 30's is more accurate. That's because I'm not a sophisticated dresser and more importantly, I'm Asian and have aged well with no gray hairs or wrinkles (I suffered from pretty bad acne as a teen/young adult and used retinols for the acne).

I'm 33 with a 2 yr old and I'm more concerned that I feel like I'm at least 50.

For me ( I am the 41 yo poster just above you), it came up recently when I had my bday. At work, this one lady brings in homemade cakes whenever anyone has a bday, so we generally now if it's someone's bday or not. This one guy asked me, "Ok, which one is it?" and I cringed and said, "Forty one????" and he was in shock. But again, I think maybe it's bc I dress sloppily and don't seem like I have it all together like you would expect a 41 to.

Well, someone once asked if my 2 year old was my kid or grandkid (I'm 38!). But she was 12, so I think everyone looks old to her.

People don't generally guess my age though-I'm curious how that comes up.

I am 41 and I have a 6yo. I think I look ancient and like things are falling apart, but most people are shocked when they hear I am over 40. I think it's because maybe I dress sloppily and younger. Blush. I think they think I am about 35 or so? (?)
