Not OP, but I get why she doesn't want to make the first move. If he can't lean in and give her a kiss after 8 dates, this does not bode well.

Possibly gay (I ignored those signs for years before finding out with an ex). Instead of making the first move, I'd be inclined to do some research about his background - can you talk to any of his friends? He may be shy, but he may also be gay and not willing to accept the fact.

this happened with someone i dated for awhile. i finally kissed him…but it didn't progress much even with that. kind of let it go…

This happened to me, too, and his name did begin with B! Well, his nickname (along the lines of Bob/Robert, Bill/William, etc.). That and several other things that were even more telling made my friends determine that he was gay but didn't know or accept it (like a PP suggested here).

Are you dating my brother? He is just taking it slow. His last relationship got too serious too quickly and he is trying to take things slowly so he doesn't make the same mistake. Make the first move! I know he likes you.

This happened to me. The relationship never went anywhere. The guy just had psychological issues: very passive aggressive, more of a spectator than a participant in life, very restricted diet and set of activities.

This kind of thing can be the result of past trauma, confusion about sexual orientation, low libido due to medical condition. Etc.

Are you over 35? The never married men just start to get odder on average the older you get.

8 dates without a kiss is odd, and I've never been on that many dates without kissing someone (maybe 4). I do have a friend who had a guy go 10 or 12 dates without kissing her. They laugh about it now (they're married).

What does your guy do when the dates are over? Hug you? Just say goodnight?

Make a move if you like. Kiss him. What do you have to lose?

We have been out at least 8 times and he has yet to kiss me. i have been out of the dating scene for a long time now but this does not appear normal. Do i address it? Ignore it? Move on? Help!
