Westfields High did it last summer, but the talent pool was from all over NoVA, so it was actually very, very good. It just depends on how many cast members can actually sing and act, maybe a bit of dancing in a side ensemble. If a particular school usually does a great job, you will be safe.
For that particular production, young kids won't get the references, but the play itself is G to PG I'd say.

My kids saw it at 15 and 13, there's really nothing wrong with it at all. Some suggestive content but very PG. My daughter and I were singing "Springtime for Hitler" on a beautiful Saturday a few weeks ago- great show.

We usually go to the local high school shows. What age would be appropriate for The Producers? All I can remember is "it's springtime ...." Which I use to sing to my kids- "it's bedtime for Child on Street... Other than than standard Mel Brooke's steer types, how bad is a high school show. Yes I'd rather see Pajama game, but I'm looking for next weekend.
