OP here. My cat apart from wood, strings and rubber, chews my fingers and palms too.

I would keep her out of your bedroom. She's trying to wake you up because she's bored. I would put corner protectors on the dresser and maybe at night put the blinds up.
I keep my cat in the bathroom at night because she likes to wake me up in the morning. She actually likes being in the bathroom, it creates a dark warm space for her - I put in her food and litter box and blankets for her to sleep on.

OP here. She does all that. She sits on my tummy for a while, then extends her paw to touch my face and ears. Then I change sides, so she falls next to me. She bites my fingers (gently) and licks. When I ignore, that's when her chewing session begins. I have had to change 5 blinds in the house since she cut them apart! But this happens mostly in the morning times. She doesn't play with her toys in those dawn hours.

Well I know most cats like to wake up at the crack of dawn. I read somewhere it has something to do w/nature.

Regarding the chewing, my cats like to chew on "stringy" items such as yarn, shoelaces, string, etc.

You could be right.

She may be just chewing on something to stay occupied until you awaken.

What a considerate feline. At least she doesn't pounce on you, lice you w/her sandpaper tongue, scratch you w/her claws or meow in your eardrum like mine do!!!!!!!!

My cat wakes up early in the morning, gets on to my dressing table and starts chewing the corner. That not being enough, she then chews the string of the blinds. She is not hungry at that time because I have tried giving her food. Is the chewing a means of pass time while waiting for me to wake up?
