I do like casual shoes, but I don't care for the look of Toms. Plus, they have zero arch support and are pretty flimsy so I don't understand how people can wear them all day.

Well then, that is a legitimate reason to wear them. Not many people have Mrs. Roper as a fashion icon though, so I wonder what on earth is the attraction for other people.

Most of the moms in my circle of friends wear flat toms all the time. I think they look cute with skinny jeans and I am consequently debating buying a pair. However, I primarily wear light weight dresses in the spring/summer paired with ballet flats or wedges. What do you think of wearing toms with a casual cotton dress?
