Agree the place sounds promising but "bread and salt" is a dumb name. We need better names for these places, restauranteurs!! We've already got a Bread & Chocolate and a Breadfurst and a Panera nearby...

They appear to be making progress. There is a "now hiring" sign and a working fountain outside.

I look forward to another 30-something teaching me about quality bread now next to PUBLIC (in all caps).

I didn't know many octogenarians used DCUM! Impressive!

Fingers crossed for something good - at least it's not another mattress store in the neighborhood!

OP here-- I love the new Little Red Fox that replaced Marvelous Market next to Comet Pingpong... hope this new place is something similar. Maybe a little less expensive?

While they're at it, they should plop in a modular Silver Diner/Metro 29 style place at the old Babe's location--you don't even need to give it a beer and wine license and it would be a slice of heaven…

I just walked by that empty, perennially half-finished office building on 41st Street in Tenleytown, between Public and the creepy kebab shop. There's a new banner out front that says "Bread and Salt-- a neighborhood emporium" is coming soon. Anyone know anything about it? (I couldn't find anything online.) I hope it's decent, whatever it is.
