Yes, this is an important question even more than the pool being open to the community during summer months. Swim meets are incredibly loud and kids (and some adults) won't care about tramping through your yard early in the morning to get to the pool for 7:00 a.m. warm ups and meets which generally start at 8:00 a.m. The noise can be deafening especially during relays. Meets are usually on Saturday mornings and go from 7:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. /s/ Swim Mom.

OP, realtors are notorious liars. They'll do anything for a sale. We were looking at a house that was a few blocks from the beltway. I said I wanted to go into the backyard (rather than look at it from inside the house) to see if we could hear any noise. Well, yes, we could clearly and fairly loudly hear the rumble of traffic and cars. Our realtor looked me dead in the eye and said, "What noise? I don't hear a thing."
Noise in the backyard when you are next to a community pool would be intolerable. You would never be able to use your backyard peacefully in the summer.

That was my first thought too. I know our neighborhood pool starts swim meets VERY early on Saturday mornings in the summer. And hours before the meet even starts, they swimmers/families start arriving to stake out a good place for their canopy.
What is between the house and the pool? A tall privacy fence? Shrubs that cover a different style of fence? Will pool patrons be able to see right into your back yard/or even through your windows into your house, if there are big windows/doors?
What if you want to have friends over to BBQ and sit out on your back deck/patio. Will it feel really awkward with the pool right there?
All of these are good good great questions. All this makes a difference as to whether I would consider this positive or negative. I am kind of nosey so it would be fun to see who was there before I walked over there too (how crowded, etc)

That was my first thought too. I know our neighborhood pool starts swim meets VERY early on Saturday mornings in the summer. And hours before the meet even starts, they swimmers/families start arriving to stake out a good place for their canopy.

I would definitely consider it. Having our kids being able to walk to the pool is a big plus for me.

I lived next to a community pool. Neighborhood kids who didn't belong to the pool would cut through our yard to try to hop the fence to the pool. Very annoying.

Likely negative to me. I grew up on a property that backed up to a campground where they had summer camp, and the noise was very annoying in the summer.
